(near Birchbark Books)

Birchbark Books is pleased to host an evening with poet, novelist, and essayist Deena Metgzer. Deena will be reading from and discussing her new novel A Rain of Night Birds, which has been called "a momentous and needed confrontation between indigenous knowledge and the modern scientific mind." Deena Metzger is a radical thinker on behalf of the natural world and planetary survival, a teacher of writing and healing practices for 50 years, and a writer and activist profoundly concerned with peacemaking, restoration and sanctuary for a beleaguered world. Her work examines the tragic failure of contemporary culture and provides guidance for personal, political, environmental and spiritual healing. Reception and book signing to follow the reading.
